We’ve been getting a lot of requests asking for Kathy’s recommendations regarding threads to use on “A Time for Gathering,” so we’ve compiled a list here to help you gather supplies for your project.
Kathy always uses Valdani 100% Cotton Perle Thread and used size 12 for this quilt. There is an extensive list of colors in the book but if you would like to narrow it down, Kathy has recommended the following minimum selection to use to complete all of your wool appliqué blocks…

P9 - Bronze
O501 - Ebony Almond
V4 - Golden Browns
P2 - Olive Green

All of the colors listed above are also contained in the Harvest Garden Valdani Thread Collection if you’d prefer to buy a set rather than individual balls. The set contains 12 balls, 2 of which are not called for in “A Time for Gathering” but are colors that Kathy uses in many other projects.
