Our Story

The Cottage at Cardiff Farms was established by Kathy Cardiff in 2010 as a way to showcase her original textile designs. Here, you can find patterns and books for original quilts and wool projects created by Kathy with her signature cozy cottage feel.  All of our patterns and books are written with clear instructions, perfect for beginners as well as experienced quilters.

We are located on a charming two and a half acre “farm” in picturesque Southwest Washington State. We relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest from sunny Southern California in 2016 and have never looked back! Our quiet rural setting provides endless inspiration for all of Kathy’s beautiful designs.

Kathy

Kathy Cardiff has been creating and designing for as long as she can remember. She has always had a love for art and drawing, carrying sketchpads with her wherever she goes. Her mother, a talented seamstress, taught her to sew at a young age but it wasn’t until Kathy’s children were in high school that she combined her love for designing and sewing. Now, she turns her beautiful sketches into cozy textile designs for the home. She draws most of her design inspiration from nature and gardening. In fact, if she is not sketching or sewing something, you will most likely find her out digging in the dirt in her beloved garden.
